Best Time to Visit
The history of Bradford Regional Airport can be traced back to the World War II. When the country needed an expanding air force, land was acquired in McKean County to serve as an emergency landing field. However, the war ended before the field was ever commissioned. It was later on that the city purchased the airfield from Corps. Ralph T. Zook. In September 1948, the first ever passenger service was inaugurated and the terminal completed the following year in July 1949. Today, the airport covers a land area measuring 1,015 acres. It has two runways both with asphalt surfaces. It offers daily fights with Southern Airlines departing to more than 80 destinations. Nearby areas that have benefited from the flight services and schedules of the airport include Brockway, DuBois, and Weedville to name only a few.
