The Brasília–Presidente Juscelino Kubitschek International Airport is the one and only international airport located in Brasilia, Brazil. It was one of the projects of Former President Juscelino Kubitschek back in 1956. The Central Plateu regions originally had dirt runways, 8,900 feet long and a makeshift passenger terminal made out of shacks and leaves. Now, the airport serves as one of the major airports in the country that accommodates several major airlines such as American Airlines. LATAM, Paranair and TAP Air Portugal.

The SB-Brasilia Intl. - President Juscelino Kubitschek serves as the main base to the Integrated Air Traffic Control and Air Defense Center or Brazil. In 2009, the airport received a huge investment plan for renovations to be able to prepare for the upcoming 2014 FIFA World Cup. After remodeling the terminal, jetways increased from 13 to 29 while airplane positions increased from 40 to 70. New parking lots, hotels, business areas and facilities were also added to the airport.
