Chelyabinsk Airport - CEK-Balandino
Chelyabinsk Airport in Chelyabinsk, Russia serves the largest airliners in the region. Situated 11 miles north of the city center, the airport serves as the secondary home of Yamal Airlines and Ural Airlines. CEK-Balandino was initially dedicated as Balandino Airport during its opening in 1953. It had a passenger terminal and a dirt runway back then. Developments were slowly added to the airport up until 1974 when a new terminal was built to accommodate more passengers. By 1994, two decades after, CEK-Belandino officially became a privatized airport and had its first international flight during that year.
