Chesterfield Towne Center
Opened in 1975, the Chesterfield Towne Center is a shopping mall nestled in the heart of Richmond, Virginia. It is the biggest shopping center in the city of Richmond and implements an appealing retail line up for the city’s upscale population. The mall is formerly known as the Chesterfield Mall, and during its initial years, the traffic was sluggish, leading to some referring it as the Chesterfield Morgue. After its major remodeling and extension in 1987, the mall added a movie theater, food court, and a lengthy passage parallel to Mall Drive. It has also been renamed as the Chesterfield Towne Center. Several retail stores have also been added.
