In Harrison County serving Clarksburg, West Virginia, is an airport both used for civil and military purposes – the North Central West Virginia Airport. It first opened its doors in the year 1935 and was then known as the Tri-County Airport, merging with Marion and Taylor County. However, just two years later, the other two counties withdrew and Harrison County authorities decided to expand the airport. CKB- North Central West Virginia Airport was renamed as Benedum Airport during 1944.
