Colorado State Fair Events Center now Southwest Motors Events Center is an 8,225 seats multipurpose arena. It is located on the Colorado State Fairgrounds’ northwest corner in Pueblo, Colorado. As being host to various events, the Center draws large crowd from within and from out of the town. It is predominantly used as venue to the annual Colorado State Fair. It was first intended to be an amphitheater but the need for a bigger arena prevailed that caused the construction of the Events Center. The capacity of the venue is able to host big events such as concerts, indoor football, professional bull riding, basketball games and monster truck shows.
Colorado State Fair Events Center along with other attractions in the area attracts attention of visitors. One of the nearest cities from Pueblo is the Canon City and it has numerous attractions to visit. There are many excellent accommodations in Pueblo near the Events Center. The Courtyard by Marriott Pueblo Downtown has bistro and bar, convenience store, and a cozy lounge with fireplace. A more modern hotel to stay in is the Hampton Inn & Suites Pueblo-Southgate that offers indoor and outdoor pool and freebies such as parking, hot breakfast and internet. Pueblo has many attractions to offer aside from the Events Center, the Lake Pueblo State Park is a good place to do recreational fishing, camping, hiking, and swimming at its special swim beach. Another sightseeing attraction guests will surely enjoy is the Bishop Castle. It is a roadside attraction, a castle not built during distant past but just in 1969 by Jim Bishop.
