Sheridan County is the home of Dayton, a town in Wyoming, which is named after Joe Dayton Thorne who was one of the city founders, in the year 1882. Dayton, WY was incorporated in the year 1906, depicting a rich agricultural history. It has a total land area of 0.54 square miles. Located where The Little Tongue River and the Tongue River meet, it is served by the US Highway 14, which is just at the east of Big Horn Mountains.
