Eastgate Centre
The Eastgate Centre is a large shopping center located in Harare, Zimbabwe, which was designed by Zimbabwean architect named Mick Pearce. The shopping mall is entirely cool by its natural means because of the vegetation that reduces the direct sunlight heat. The chimney is where the heat is coming out, and the hot air that came out will be used for energy production. This design is called the "Big Glass Block." To work this well, the building must be intricately and perfectly designed because there has to be rules to be followed in order to make this design successful. Eastgate Centre was opened in 1996 on Robert Mugabe Avenue, with office and parking spaces for more than 400 cars only.
The New Ambassador Hotel and Cresta Oasis are 4-star hotels that featured a free Wi-Fi internet connection and a free parking space. Both hotels include almost the same amenities and services, such as having an on-site restaurant and bar where guests can dine, enjoy and relax. There's also a free shuttle service going to the airport and to the center where more attractions can be found. Kamfinsa Shopping Centre is a place where people can refresh and buy their personal necessities. Kamfinsa Shopping Centre is holding numerous of shopping boutiques, play barn for the kids, entertainment venues, and restaurants. Another landmark is the Harare Gardens, which is home to Zimbabwe's endemic plants and home to more than 750 plant species. The garden was conceptualized by Dr. Hyram Wilder, and eventually established the garden in 1902 to protect and propagate endangered flora species.
