Flers: The French Town by the River Vere
In World War II, Flers was one of the towns close to the D-Day landing sites and was targeted during the bombing of Normandy to push back the German reinforcement advance. The town erected a monument to the British 11th Armored Division, who liberated the town, in Pont de Vere. Visitors can reach Flers through the Paris-Granville line or through the bus system.
