Ipatinga: Steel Capital of Brazil
Ipatinga, Brazil is located in the eastern part of Minas Gerais. It is inaugurated in 1964. Administratively, it is part of Vale do Aco. Geographically, the town is located where the Piracicaba River meets the Doce River which is part of the capital city of Belo Horizonte. Ipatinga is also a pass-through between Minas and Victoria. There is a mid-sized airport that is found in the center of the town. The Usimanas Airport (IPN) is located in the town which served both small and medium planes. There is also another airport which is the Coronel Altino Machado de Oliveira (GVR) but an hour away.

The best time to visit Ipatinga is between April and October. It is considered a cooler month and less humid. Most people visit between November and March. Expect busy season at the end of the year. It is expected the Ipatinga, Brazil hotels to be quite expensive.
