Laredo is not just the oldest border crossing points along the U.S.-Mexico border but a city that has been inspiration for music and the arts in popular culture. "The City Under Seven Flags" holds the biggest festival for Washington's Birthday Celebration with thousands of tourists flooding the Laredo, TX hotels and establishments. Best Time to Visit
Laredo is at its warmest during the months of June to August with a high number of tourists visiting the area increasing demands in accommodations. February hosts the Laredo Birding Festival and would be a great time to schedule your trip. October is the least visited month but you'll get to enjoy live music at the TAMIU Alumni Autmus Fest if you head to the region.
What to Do & Area Attractions
Take full advantage of the outdoors at the Lake Casa Blanca and the Lake Casa Blanca International State Park where you can go fishing, have a picnic, go swimming or ride a boat. Historical artifacts are featured and can be accessed at the Border Heritage Museum, Imaginarium of South Texas and at the Republic of Rio Grande Museum. Strolls and leisurely afternoons would be best along the San Agustin Plaza and the Father Charles M. McNaboe Park.
