Mercy Health Center was established by the Sisters of Mercy, founded by Catherine McAuley, recognized as the first religious order that is not bound to the cloister rules. Hence, the sisters were free to visit the poor in their homes. From Dublin, the Mercy Health the sisters traveled to the U.S. and established Mary Health Center in Oklahoma City in Oklahoma. Mercy Ministries serves patients with special needs, especially low-income patients.

Visitors in town should take a trip to the Myriad Botanical Gardens, an interactive park located downtown. This lovely garden is surrounded by a sunken lake and features the Crystal Bridge Tropical Conservatory. This living plant museum features tropical flowers, plants, and palm trees. For your next stop, check out the Lake Thunderbird State Park in Cleveland near Norman, which features two marinas. This fun park offers guests different types of recreation and water activities. It also has a picnic ground and an archery range.
