Ngwe Saung: A New Haven to Head To
Ngwe Saung houses a popular beach resort amongst tourists who visit Myanmar. Situated west of the Bay of Bengal, the village of Ngwe Saung has attracted rich and adventurous tourists. It is a five-hour drive away from the city of Yangon, but still finds tourists visiting it for its silvery sand and unspoiled beaches. Tourists can head on and book a flight to the Pathein Airport (BSX) to get to Ngwe Saung.
Best Time to Visit
The ideal time to visit Ngwe Saung would be during the months of March to May. During October, the Thadingyut Festival of Lights is celebrated, where the Burmese light up lanterns and let it fly off to the sky. If visitors are planning to head to Myanmar during April, they can take part in the Thingyan Water Festival, which lasts for several days.
What to Do & Area Attractions
Tourists can visit the Lover’s Island in Ngwe Saung, which is a perfect place to watch the sunset. The beach of Ngwe Saung is of course the main attraction of the village, which boasts of white sand and blue waters. Guests can sunbathe, windsurf, and kayak in the beach. The nearby city of Yangon also has attractions that visitors can visit, such as the Shwe Dagon Pagoda, the Inya Lake, and the National Museum of Myanmar. Because Ngwe Saung is not yet fully developed as a tourist attraction, there are limited Ngwe Saung, MY hotels and accommodations to choose from, which include the Ocean Blue Ngwe Saung Beach Hotel and the 4-star Myanmar Treasure Resort Ngwe Saung.
