Novigrad: Where Seagulls take Flight
Novigrad, Istria is located between Porec and Umag. The town is often overlooked by tourists who are visiting Croatia. Although recent developments are happening in town, it has kept its charm as a fishing destination. Novigrad is has a harbour called Mandrac that is lined with fishing boats. The harbor is the busiest part of the town. Aside from fishermen knitting their nets, seagulls are flying over the area. Unfortunately, Novigrad is not connected to public transportation. Busses are rare, and taxis are inexpensive. The airport is only catering to chartered flights which are not regular. The best way to travel the town is on foot or by bike.
Best Time to Visit
Because Novigrad is a fishing village, most of its events are related to the industry. Some of the events are also related to the local produce of the town. July and August are best to be avoided because the weather is too hot and too crowded. Novigrad, Istria hotels are also expensive.

The beaches in town are very typical which includes Karpinjan Beach. It is a nice pebble beach that is a walking distance from town. There are some that are just outside the city walls. Other attractions in the area include the Church of St Pelagius and St Maximus. You can also take pictures as you tour the Church of the Birth of the Blessed Virgin Mary.
