The best time to visit Oattara Thiri Township is during the months of December through February, for the perfect weather. The busiest months are usually March through May. Tourists are least likely to visit in December.

One of the most famous attractions in the area is Myanmar Gems Museum in Yangon. It is attributed to precious Burmese gemstones. It is home to Gems Mart, which has more than 80 stores selling high-quality, raw and finished gem products, such as jades, pearles, rubies, sapphires, among others. Tourists should also visit Naypyidaw Water Fountain Garden. Visitors are welcomed with a steel archway. Created in 2008, it features a main pond with 3 fountains and 11 small ponds with 13 fountains. It also has a clock tower, 9 recreation centers, 2 small gardens, and 2 stone gardens. Another must-see attraction in the area is Uppatasanti Pagoda or Peace Pagoda. The term “Uppatasanti” literally means “protection against calamity”. It is home to a huge Buddha tooth relic from China. Its construction began in 2006 and was completed 3 years later.
