Oloron-Sainte-Marie: A Monument of Historique town
Oloron-Sainte-Marie, France, is a beautiful and quiet French town located in the southwestern Pyrénées-Atlantiques part of the country. Oloron-Sainte-Marie was established in the 1st century by the Romans and was previously named Illoronensium. The town had a prosperous history with its strategic location in between the trading capital of Daax and Saragossa. There were changes in town over the years but the major structure was a product of the 18th century restoration after the end of the French Wars of religion.
