Barkley Regional Airport- PAH Airport
Barkley Regional Airport - PAH airport is the regional airport of McCracken County, Kentucky situated in the west of Paducah City. PAH airport is near the cities Aurora, Draffenville and Gilbertsville. PAH airport is mostly used for general aviation which includes recreation flying component, building aircraft process and private transport. Although it is the major function of the PAH airport, it still operates an airline. United Express which is operated by Skywest airlines carries passengers from Paducah to Cape Girardeau and Chicago-O’Hare.
Best Time to Visit
PAH Airport was previously built as an airfield in 1941 but was later converted into a functional public airport for civil use in 1945. The airport has undergone several restructurings but major expansion of its runway was completed in December 2005. The current PAH airport has two runways with 1,981 meters and 1,676 meters long asphalted runway. Majority of the aircraft operation in this airport is attributed to general aviation, followed by military activities and air taxis.

The airport accommodates more private transport to Paducah. Due to the limited number of passenger flights, some tourists or local passengers opt to take the nearby airports such as the CEY-Murray Calloway County Airport and PHT-Henry County Airport.
Meanwhile, hotels in nearby the airport is not sparse. There is a well visited 2-star hotel, La Quinta Inn & Suites by Wyndham Paducah, which offers modest lodging with indoor pool and complete fitness center for guests. Another is the Country Inn & Suites Radisson, Paducah, KY which has straightforward accommodations.
