Taguatinga, Brazil locally known as simply Tagua is part of the Federal District. The town is known to have a rich history just like other nearby areas. In 1749, Corrego Cortado finds a small settlement filled with pioneers. It was the first time a white man laid foot in the future land of Taguatinga. There are some settlers who started to live in the banks of the nearby river. This is due to the possibility of finding gold and diamonds in the area. At the onset, the town was called the Villa Sarah Kubitschek then it was changed to Santa Cruz de Taguatinga.
