Tarapoto: The Beautiful Cloud Forest in Peru
The commercial hub city of Tarapoto is located in San Martin Province, which is the northern part of Peru. The city is the largest and is connected to the Upper Amazon by a well-kept highway through the historic town of Yurimaguas. It is 356 meters above sea level, thus popularly known as the cloud forest. Tourists often use the city as a stopover before going to the Amazon forest. Best Time to Visit
The best time to visit Tarapoto is during the summer season from December to February and fall from March to May, with warmer weather. Although, these times of the year are also quite crowded. So if you want to avoid the crowd, the spring season from September to November can be a good time with the temperature feeling great given the humidity and wind. Accommodations are priced down during this season. The town has an active nightlife, so a number of hotels and restaurants are just around the area.
