Ovda Airport – VDA Uvda
Situated in the Ovda region of Israel, Ovda Airport is a military-use airport operated by the Israeli Air Force. It was a former joint-civil military airport and was Israel’s second international airport. The airport was first built as an airbase for the Israeli Air Force and in 1982, the Israeli Airports Authority started operations at the airport. Ovda Airport has stopped handling civilian flights on March 31, 2019, and all civilian traffic was transferred to Ramon Airport on April 1, 2019.
Best Time to Visit
VDA-Ovda Airport has two asphalt-paved runways. There are several shops in the airport that is open to the public at the Duty-Free area. Some of them are souvenir shops and a snack bar. The town of Eliatwhich is near VDA Uvda is known for its beaches’ clear waters. Snorkeling and diving are popular in the place.
