Elesmes Airport – XME
Elesmes Airport, also known as the Maubeuge Elesmes Aerodrome, is an airport located in Maubeuge, France. This small aerodrome is mostly used by aeroclubs for practice and leisure flights. It is also open to public air traffic. Working under the IATA code XME and the ICAO code LFQJ, the airport mostly serves the communes of Elesmes and that of Vieux – Reng. In addition to being used by light aircraft, the airport also caters to model aircraft clubs as well as parachuting activities. It covers an area of 90 hectares and sits at an elevation of 452 feet above mean sea level. There are three runways. Runway 1 is the longest and it measures 4,265 feet and has a coated surface.

The Agglomeration Maubeuge Val de Sambre (AMWS) operates the airport. The other two runways on the airport have uncoated surfaces. Runway 2 is 2,625 feet in length and Runway 3 is 984 feet long. Runway 3 is reserved for micro-lights while Runway 2 is reserved for airplanes. There is controlled signal area in Elesmes Airport. Communication is done via self-information. In addition to the airport itself, there is also a parking area and a refueling station. Cities, towns, villages, and suburbs found near the airport include Maiseres, Mons, and Nimy. There are also warehouses and a restaurant onsite.
