Located in Beirut, the capital of Lebanon, the American University of Beirut Medical Center is one of the 64 constituent campuses of the American University of Beirut, formerly the Syrian Protestant College. It was officially inaugurated in 1970 with a capacity of over 400 patients and high-quality medical facilities and offices for the academic staff. The AUBMC seeks to provide the highest level of care for the community of Beirut and lead the pack in terms of innovative medical research.
Lebanon is a relatively large country. A few of the neighboring communities to Beirut are Harissa, which is part of the Mount Lebanon Governorate adjacent to Beirut. Mar Roukouz is another village also part of Mount Lebanon. A few of the sites to see in Lebanon include the Pigeon Rocks, also known as the Raouche Rocks. These rock formations tower over the sea and are visible from Beirut’s coast. The Rene Mouawad Garden is a portion of urban greenery located in the middle of one of Beirut’s busy business districts. The Berytus Roman Baths are an ancient Roman bath site that was first created in the first century under the Roman emperor Augustus. Some of the notable hotels near the AUBMC include Orient Queen Homes, with a fine rooftop view of the city skyline and cozy rooms with well-equipped bathrooms, and Gefinor Rotana, with an equally sweeping city-wide view from both its stylish suites and classy rooftop pool.
