Chaung Thar: Hidden Heavenly Paradise
Chaung Thar, Myanmar is a famous seaside resort town that is about five hours of driving from the capital city, Yangon. It is located in the region of Ayeryawady. Among the many beaches in the country, this town is regarded to be the cleanest and cheapest for a holiday getaway. The town’s name is also commonly spelled as Chaungtha which then translates into “pleasant/beautiful stream” pertaining to the small stream that runs throughout the town.

Every November, there is also the annual Chaung Thar Kite Festival that takes place in town.
