Mihail Kogălniceanu Airport (CND) is located 16 miles of Constanta, Romania particularly in the commune of Mihail Kogălniceanu. CND serves as the primary airport for Northern Dobruja Region and is the gateway to Black Sea resorts, Port of Constanta, and Constanta County. This airport is named after the third Prime Minister of Romania, Mihail Kogălniceanu.
CND is operated by S.N. Aeroportul International Mihail Kogalniceanu Constanta S.A. and was built as a military base in 1955. This public and military airport is occasionally used by the US Air Force and eventually replaced Palas Airport, which was built in 1932.
