Gyumri: A Beautiful Ancient Settlement in Armenia
Lying on the north-western part of Armenia in the province of Shirak is the country's second-biggest city called Gyumri. Once ruled by Russia, the place displays several buildings with Russian-style architecture along with many Russian army bases in the city center. Besides those, Gyumri, Armenia is also home to Armenia's many famous museums, as well as to theaters, schools, and gusans, and so dubbed the locale "City of Crafts and Arts."
Best Time to Visit
Gyumri, Armenia is usually extremely cold in winter with a temperature of -40°C degrees, and significantly hot in summer with 38°C degrees. The most comfortable time to pay a visit is from early June to late September when the pleasant temperature can be felt and rainfall can be experienced for up to 7 days only. It is advised to make early reservations before June, July, and August to save money on Gyumri, Armenia accommodation. Additionally, May is another excellent month as Renaissance International Festival takes place.
