Jinja: Uganda’s Adrenaline Hotspot
Jinja, Uganda is a town perched on the shore of Lake Victoria in the southern part of the country and is famous for its high-adventure activities like white-water rafting, kayaking, quad biking, mountain biking and horseback riding thus it earned the title "the adventure capital of East Africa." It is also historically known as the source of the mighty Nile River. Jinja takes pride in its luxuriant natural setting amid an assemblage of colonial architecture.
Best Time to Visit
You do not need to sweat it out when planning a trip to Jinja since it has so far been oblivious to mass tourism. The most ideal time to visit the town is from months of June to September, which is considered peak season as the weather is generally dry and schools are on a break. It is still advisable to book well in advance, especially if you plan to make your vacation jam-packed with activities since some permits needed for these can sell out months in advance.
