Best Time to Visit
Most visitors visit this town from November through March. During these months, the weather in Kawthung is more pleasant with limited monsoon rain and heat. However, weather conditions may vary. If you are planning to travel to Kawthung, MM, consider going in mid-April to experience the Maha Thingyan Water Festival. This Burmese New Year celebration includes water splashing and traditional dancing which attracts large crowds. Hence, Kawthung, MM hotels can be difficult to book during this time.
