Kelibia: A Coastal Town Blessed with Beaches and History
A town relying mostly on fishing and agriculture, Kelibia, Tunisia is a gem on its own. It is beautifully surrounded by beaches and abundant marine life that gives the town a feel of paradise. It sits on the peninsula of Cap Bon, around a mile inland, facing the Mediterranean Sea. Kelibia hosts the National Fishing School of Tunisia, an institution-training fisherman from across the country.
Best Time to Visit
Visiting Kelibia from April to October will reward guests with comfortable temperatures, ranging between 68F to 90F. However, there are fewer tourists around the summer season when the weather is too hot for outdoor activities. That said, most of the Kelibia, Tunisia hotels are available and cheap during this time of year.
What to Do & Area Attractions
While the town is yet to be discovered by tourists, it is already adorned with beautiful beaches, including the local favorite, Plage de la Mansoura. What makes this beach a popular destination is that it is backdropped with rolling green hills and the bustling townscape. You should not miss visiting the Fort de Kelibia, while in the town, as well. It dates back to the 5th century BC and is considered the biggest preserved structure in the country.
