Limketkai Center
The Limketkai Center, or colloquially known as Ketkai, is a shopping mall located in Cagayan de Oro, which was owned and developed by the Limketkai Sons Inc. This shopping center is the city's largest factory and business district developer. Many anchor stores and services are containing the mall, including the Robinsons Cagayan de Oro, Vista Mall CDO, Our Lady of Manaoag Chapel, Limketkai Luxe Hotel, and many others. Since its opening in 1991, the shopping mall has been subject to many renovations and expansion, because even the country's top business tycoons, such as SM and Ayala, are extending their service to Limketkai Sons Inc.
The Limketkai Luxe Hotel is the most accessible hotel to the shopping center, since the hotel and the mall are connected. The Limketkai Hotel offers 213 non-smoking guestrooms, with an outdoor swimming pool, fitness center, and spa services. Another hotel in the city center is the Red Planet Cagayan de Oro, one of the most visited hotels because of its affordable rate. This hotel has a free shuttle pickup back and forth to the airport and a 24-hour front desk service. The Xavier University has built its first folkloric museum called Museo de Oro. This museum prides the rich history, artifacts, and artwork of Mindanao. Museo de Oro was founded in 1967 by Francisco Demetrio and started to collect and accommodate historical and archaeological items. The next destination would be Don Gregorio Pelaez Sports Complex, a sports facility and known for hosting activities like the Palarong Pambansa. Don Gregorio Pelaez Sports Complex is also considered as the oldest sports park in Northern Mindanao.
