Maio Airport – MMO Maio Island

Maio Airport is situated in Cape Verde in the island of Maio. It is also located 1.8 miles north of Porto, Ingles, the island capital. It has the least traffic among all the airports in Cape Verde among the seven functional civil airports in the area. It is a public airport operated by Aeroportos Seguranca e Aerea and primarily serves Porto Ingles particularly Vila do Maio.

Maio Airport is a small and quaint airport serving short flights. It has a reported statistics of 15,100 passengers in 2017 with 351-recorded aircraft operations. It serves destinations to and from Praia and Sal with Binter CV and Cabo Verde Express operating respectively. The airport has basic amenities and a quick restaurant to eat. Since it offers short flights, is does not need too much of facilities, just the simplest. The airport offers short and long-term parking. Tourists travelling to the airport are most likely visiting for the beach. Visit nearby cities such as the Praia and many more.

Kaza Tropical offers a sun terrace and a view to the sea and also a shuttle service to the airport. Maio is like a paradise. After Sal and Boa Vista, Maio is the third beach island in Cape Verde.
