Rize, Turkey is a province located in the eastern region of the Black Sea in the northeastern portion of the country. The area was originally known as Lazistan. Current Turkey President Recep Tayyip Erdogan spends his early years as a child in Rize. The province's name was derived from the Greek word Riza, meaning "mountain slopes". Best Time to Visit
December to March is a great time of the year if you would want to experience heavy snowfall in Rize. For outdoor entertainment, April to August would be your ideal time of the year to head to the area. There are plenty of famous local festivals in the area, a few to mention include the Rize Summer Sports Festival and the Findikli Green, Gold Silver and Sea Festival.

The Botanical Tea Garden is one of the famous tea companies in the region. Get access to this are as a part of a tour or spend the whole day mesmerizing on the beauty of the area. The Ataturk House and Ethnography Museum is also a great place to enjoy and relax in Rize. The building where the museum sits is located in a three-storey mansion built in 1921.
