Roman Tmetuchl International Airport – ROR Koror
Palau International Airport, also known as Roman Tmetuchl International Airport, is Palau’s main airport. It is 3.7 miles from Palau’s former capital, Koror, and 15.5 miles from Ngerulmud. The airport has a land area of 480 acres and has an asphalt and concrete runway. The airport is known for many names but its main name, which was granted by Senate Resolution of Palau was taken from an honorable local politician and businessman, Roman Tmetuchl. Among its many names are Babelthuap/Koror Airport and Airai Airport.

Roman Tmetuchl International Airport operates under an international standard, the US FAA Standard. It is a public airline with destinations to and from Tokyo, Tapei, Seoul, Anguar, Guam and Manila. The airport has 57 flights for 23 different routes and destinations in 16 countries. The airport features include terminal, maintenance facilities, ground handling services, helicopters, hardstand, north apron, parking and emergency services. The Bureau of Aviation operates it. Some of the airlines going to the airport are Japan Airlines, United Airlines, Korean Airlines, China Airlines and Delta Airlines. It carries approximately 200,000 passengers per year.

Several hotels near the airport offer good location and comfortable overnight stay. Airai Water Paradise Hotel & Spa is near the city center and is just a six minute drive away from the airport. Shell Villa Apartel Resort is also just nine minutes away. Palau Hotel is a not-to-distant hotel to book for a layover but it offers more accessible location to restaurants and shops; nevertheless, it also offers airport shuttle like the first two hotels mentioned.
