Summer is the busiest season in San Martin De Los Andes for it has the most ideal weather to have adventurous outdoor activities, but because this is the peak of tourism expect higher hotel and airfare rates. Those who are into skiing should travel the town in October when fresh snow is at its deepest. Tourist may also visit in August to take part of the Festival de Sabores.

Tourist can start their tour by taking a boat ride to the Lago Lacar, a clear blue lake which is the central point of the town.
