Sunyani, Ghana is the capital city of both district of Sunyani and region of Brong Ahafo Region in western Africa. It is the The town is surrounded by Southern Ashanti Uplands. During the 19th century, the city rose from outpost camp which is the home of Elephant hunters. Sunyani means elephant in the local Akan dialect. For years, Sunyani thrived to be an important hub for distributing cocoa, nuts and other staple food. The town is also home to both regional and high court administrations. The town has an airport about 10 minutes way which is the Sunyani Airport (NYI).
