Also called Burj Dubai, Burj Khalifa is a world-renowned skyscraper located in the city of Dubai, United Arab Emirates. Boasting a total height of 2,722 feet and a roof height of 2,717 feet, the building has been considered as the tallest on the planet since 2009, the year of its topping out. The construction of Burj Khalifa started in 2004 and was finished in 2009, but was opened in January 2010. Its design was made by the American architect Adrian Smith and was derived from the region’s Islamic architecture and was inspired by the Spider Lily, which is the regional desert flower.

With its amazing height, Burj Khalifa broke numerous height records, including its label as the tallest structure in the world. A few minutes away from the skyscraper is Dubai Mall, which is one of the biggest shopping malls in the UAE and on the planet that houses luxury shops and stores. And just beside Burj Khalifa is the famous Dubai Fountain, which is the second-largest of its kind in the world and a must-see site.
