La Nubia Airport - MZL Colombia
La Nubia Airport, airport code MZL, is a public airport located near Manizales, Colombia. It is owned and operated by InfiCaldas. The airport has a short runway at less than one mile, and thus can only accommodate light-duty aircraft. La Nubia Airport only operates in the day and is often forced to close early during inclement weather due to its ill-equipped facilities.
Best Time to Visit
The limited capacity and functionality of La Nubia Airport prompted the government of the nearby town of Palestina to consider opening an alternate airport, complete with a larger runway to accommodate more aircraft. However, deficiencies in its design and improper evaluation of the soil of the area led to the plans for the airport being indefinitely suspended. Cities and areas located near the airport include Luna Park, Pueblo Tapao, and Alcala.
