Cap. FAP Víctor Montes Arias International Airport - TYLTalara, Peru
An important public/civil airport in Talara, Piura Region of Peru is the Cap. FAP Víctor Montes Arias International Airport (TYL). Although the name it carries says international airport, it currently does not serve any foreign-bound route. It is run by AeropuertosdelPerú S.A. In World War II, the airport was used by the US Army Air Forces to defend the South American region. Construction of the barracks and other facilities began in August 1942.
Best Time to Visit
TYL Airport serves as a gateway to the famous Los Órganos, Máncora and Punta Sal beaches in the region. It is a small air facility that’s well-suited for the passenger traffic it receives. The airport features a well-kept one floor terminal building adjacent to an air control tower. It has a one asphalt runway. In times of calamities, the airport is also used as a relief airport together with Piura Region’s main airport, the Cap. FAP Guillermo Concha Iberico International Airport. Two national airlines LATAM Perú and Viva Air Perú have limited scheduled commercial flights to and from Lima. Some of the most visited tourist destinations like Cabo Blanco, Las Pocitas and Punta Veleros are in close proximity of the TYL Airport.
